Position Overview


The Cloud Solution Architect will partner with business and technical resources to drive the strategy, architecture, design, and implementation of cloud platform initiatives. The position will work closely with other solution architects, engineers and stakeholders to design, build, and support our public and private cloud platforms ensuring they are stable, secure, and efficient.  This position will also help establish the cloud strategy and will be responsible for creating public and private cloud related standards, processes, and automation.


Working closely with the Cloud Center-of-Excellence, cloud migration teams, and DevOps teams, the role will provide leadership for other organizations internal and external to CRH who collectively manage the cloud platforms.  The right candidate will be able to work effectively in agile projects teams and seamlessly work across departments.  This position will be based from the Atlanta, GA HQ but may be remote if outside GA. 


Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)


To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.


  • Responsible for contributing to a well-informed cloud strategy that effectively supports the overall business and IT strategy

  • Develop in-depth knowledge of company’s existing technology architecture, infrastructure, and application portfolio

  • Collaborate with other Solution Architects and stakeholders to develop end-to-end solutions for Cloud platforms

  • Ensure that solutions exhibit high levels of performance, security, scalability, maintainability, and reliability

  • Create and maintain architectural artifacts from conceptual models to detailed designs. Include solution tasks necessary to implement and standardize service delivery of solutions. Leverage these design artifacts to elicit feedback and concerns from stakeholder and adjust as necessary.

  • Provide thought leadership and hands-on execution to automate the process of provisioning and configuration

  • Provide architectural consulting expertise, direction, and assistance to solution architects, systems engineers, and software engineers

  • Maintain technical skills and knowledge, keeping up to date with market trends and competitive insights; collaborates and shares knowledge with the technical community

  • Manage and participate in ongoing Business as Usual (BAU) support for the existing and future systems when needed

  • Advise on options, risks, costs versus benefits, system impacts, and technology priorities

  • Maintain professional demeanor at all times while representing the company 

  • Regular and predictable attendance at assigned times is required 

  • Other duties as assigned






  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field

  • Minimum of 15 years of relevant IT experience including engineering and cloud architecture experience

  • Minimum 7 years of direct or indirect leadership including leadership experience managing multiple, large, cross-functional teams or projects, and influencing senior level management and key stakeholders

  • Minimum 5 years of work experience in Architecture responsibilities utilizing technologies from Azure, Google and/or Amazon; Azure experience preferred

  • Expert-level Cloud Certifications in Azure or AWS required

  • Specialty Certifications in Azure or AWS preferred

  • Excellent knowledge of cloud computing technologies and current computing trends

  • Experience designing and deploying Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and Configuration-as-Code (CaC)

  • Experience with ERP solutions such as SAP S/4 in a cloud environment is a plus

  • Experience with agile style project management techniques

  • Expert with general purpose modeling tools such as Visio, Unified Modelling Language (UML) or other proprietary or industry standards to create and maintain visual designs for systems


Work Requirements


  • Must be 18 years in age or older.

  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.

  • Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.

  • Willingness to work independently within in a team environment and assist the team with other duties as required.

  • Ability to travel (overnight) as required based on business needs up to 10%.

  • Superior analytical and problem-solving skills
