Furthering Our Commitment

We’re planting 10,000 trees

Whenever a qualified job seeker or company signs up for NerdRabbit, we’ll plant one tree through Evertreen. Our goal is to plant 10,000 trees over the course of six months!

Look at us grow

Watch the video below for a look at how we’re helping restore mangrove forests in Kenya, thanks to your support.

Tree planting, the right way

Through our partnership with Evertreen, NerdRabbit is funding tree planting projects in parts of the world experiencing significant deforestation.

It’s important to us that our impact goes beyond good intentions, so Evertreen monitors tree growth via satellite imagery to ensure the trees we plant today grow up to sequester carbon for decades to come. Plus, local farmers oversee tree plantings, involving the community and creating good jobs.

Data center sustainability audits

In addition to predefined projects like Well-Architected Framework reviews and security and compliance assessments, we now offer data center sustainability consulting services through ClimateNerds.

If data centers around the world were their own country, they would have used about as much power as the United Kingdom did in 2021. Working with a ClimateNerd provides data center operators with a clear picture of major electricity consumers as well as recommendations on becoming more energy efficient and lowering scope 2 emissions.

Ways you can get involved

Invest in clean energy and energy efficiency

Powering your business or home with renewable energy and investing in energy efficiency is a powerful way to reduce emissions.

The US Federal Government and most state governments offer tax incentives to help businesses and households go green. For businesses, see the NC Clean Energy Technology Center for more info. For households, see the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) Savings Calculator from Rewiring America.

Remote work and sustainable commute options

Transportation accounts for 27 percent of greenhouse gas emissions in the US, so giving employees different workplace options while incentivizing sustainable ones makes a big difference.

If possible, offer remote or hybrid work arrangements and commuter benefits to employees taking public transit. Consider offering financial incentives to employees who bike or carpool to work.

Invest in nature-based climate solutions

Helping to fund reforestation, biodiversity, and habitat restoration projects are all great ways to leverage natural systems to fight climate change.
