NerdRabbit is a cloud talent marketplace that connects businesses with top cloud professionals, including freelancers, contractors, and full-time candidates. It offers a range of services designed to help companies find the right talent for their cloud projects and job seekers find work opportunities in the cloud industry.
At NerdRabbit, we do not have standard job postings—we have (h)opportunities. These are opportunities created by employers looking to fill one or many positions within their company. Once created, they will show up on the (h)opportunity board and can be applied to by any Nerd on our platform. They can be offered on an hourly basis.
A NerdHerder is a representative from a company or an individual in need of an AWS expert to hop on a project, become a contractor, or join their team for a full-time role.
A Nerd is a prospective cloud professional with a screened AWS skill set that an employer would like to hire for their expertise to fill any hourly, part-time, or full-time positions.
A Nerd is an expert in their industry who excels or who aspires to excel in the IT cloud space. This "Nerd" wants to capitalize on their talents while being a revolutionist in the cloud 1st world and is looking for an opportunity to make an impact working with NerdHerders and being a problem solver.
If you are a cloud professional looking to apply for hourly, part-time, or full-time work you will want to sign up as a Nerd. After signing up, you will be contacted by a Cloud Recruitment consultant to screen your AWS expertise.
The first step in getting started with NerdRabbit is to register for our platform.
You can log into our app after you verify your email. The first time you log in, you will be taken through the steps to create your account.
You can register for a Nerd account in seconds! Afterwards, you will be asked to verify your email, and a recruiter will contact you to start our screening process.
Nothing – this cost-free service is meant to promote the creation of relationships between Nerds and NerdHerders.
Our team of recruiters work hard to reach every new user as quickly as possible, but it still takes time to support our growing community. It may take 24-48 hours for you to receive your screening call!
All you need is a device with internet access and an email address or social media account (LinkedIn, Google) to sign up!
The Profile Wizard is the very first step once you log into your account after being activated. It is a 3-step process for you to build your profile before you start searching for jobs.
Some Nerds have opted into our verification process which requires one reference to confirm the professional AWS background of this Nerd. Nerds that complete this process will get a blue checkmark on their profile.
If a Nerd looks interesting to you, you can favorite this Nerd to one of your (h)opportunities by clicking the carrot in the top right corner of the Nerd profile box. After favoriting a Nerd, the carrot in the upper right-hand corner will turn purple and the candidate profile will be saved under your (h)opportunity for later review. All of your favorite Nerds can be found on your dashboard.
The first step to creating a (h)opportunity is to click the (h)opportunities tab at the top of the dashboard and select create (h)opportunity. From there you will be guided step by step to complete the necessary fields. Once completed, you will click create on the last step. If you are not able to complete the steps, no problem! Just click "save draft" at any point along the way. The steps you have completed will be saved for you until the next time you return to the (h)opportunity.
Click “Apply” and enter your desired rate, hours, and any comments you want to include. When you’re done, click “Apply” again to submit your application.
Nerds are able to filter by Rate, Skill, Company size and location to find our best openings.
Nerds can search for (h)opportunities by clicking “(h)opportunities” and selecting “find your (h)opportunity.”
All active profiles on our site require professional AWS experience. Our screening call is to ensure that new Nerds have actual AWS product experience before allowing them to sell their services on our platform.
No sweat! Even if you don’t have the AWS experience required, we have a long background of placing all types of IT professionals and would be happy to support your job search outside of our software.
All Nerds are required to have professional AWS experience. Our screening call will probe the types of projects you have worked on, the technology used, and problems you have solved to make sure that your experience checks out.
We don’t require any specific certifications, but they can improve your chances of finding work. You can add certifications by going to the Dashboard and clicking the “pencil” on your profile card or by clicking your avatar on the top right of the page and selecting profile. Add certifications right from there!
Before being activated, all new Nerds are required to complete a screening call with one of our recruiters. If your account is “under review,” that means you created your account, but haven’t completed your screening call yet. If you haven’t heard from a recruiter 48 hours after registering, please contact us at support@nerdrabbit.com and we’d be glad to help!
Before being activated, all new Nerds are required to complete a screening call with one of our recruiters. We need a phone number to complete that process. You also can receive notifications for new (h)opportunities via SMS!
Finding a Nerd is a simple process. First, you'll select the "Find Your Nerd" tab. From here you can type in keywords that are important in your search. Keep in mind we allow you to use the "And" and "Or" button to the right to help your search and find the right Nerd for you! You can also filter Nerds by rate, skill, certifications, location, education level, and years of experience.
Once you have selected a Nerd, you can hire them directly from their profile card on our platform. Whether they appear as an applicant on a (h)opportunity or from their Nerd profile card, click "hire Nerd" and follow the easy steps to get your Nerd hired. Congrats!
Once you've identified a Nerd you are interested in, you should contact them via a chat request message. Click on their profile and select chat. You can type in a message and hit send. Once your chat has been accepted, you will find that chat communication on the bottom right-hand side of your screen!
From the "my (h)opportunities" section on the dashboard or the "(h)opportunities" tab at the top of the page, you will be able to see all the applicants for each (h)opportunity, chat with them, and even schedule an interview with the Nerd.
From the “my (h)opportunities” tab, Nerds can select the (h)opportunity and click “Job Offer.” Nerds can “Accept” or “Decline” the offer. Should you decline, you will have the opportunity to send a counter offer.
Yes, if the Nerd feels the rate or number of hours aren’t ideal then they can propose a new rate and amount of hours. Nerds and NerdHerders can negotiate until they come to an agreement.
Nerds will be able to rate NerdHerders as soon as an engagement ends.
NerdHerders will be able to rate Nerds after any hourly engagement. Writing these ratings can be done from the Engagements page.
A Nerd’s ratings are available for viewing by NerdHerders. Nerds with higher ratings are more likely to be messaged by NerdHerders when the qualifications match.
Nerds will be rated on Flexibility/Adaptability, Work Ethic, Communication, Problem Solving, and Overall Experience. Overall Experience is the only rating that will affect a Nerd's average rating.
Stars are how our app measures quality. Performance is measured on a scale of 1-5 stars in our rating system.
NerdHerders are able to rate Nerds as soon as they’ve ended their engagement. This is optional, so if your NerdHerder hasn’t rated you, please reach out to request that.
Ratings appear directly under your username on the dashboard. Click there to get to the page to view ratings that have been received and given.
Nerds can receive ratings after completing hourly engagements.
On NerdRabbit, we want to do our best to promote unbiased hiring. One way we're doing that is by maintaining a certain level of anonymity in the search results, so that connections are being made strictly on skillset.
As a method of reducing hiring bias, one of our main features is maintaining a degree of anonymity for our job-searching Nerds. We want your skillset to speak for itself! For now, we’ve given you the ability to select a few different versions of an avatar to add some style to your profile.
The profile biography section is for you to tell Nerds more about who you are, what you do at your company, and what kinds of people you are looking to hire.
Your bio is an opportunity to tell NerdHerders a little bit about yourself and the type of work you’re seeking. Good information to include would be the types of positions you’ve held, the types of AWS technology you have experience with, the types of projects you’ve worked on, and the types of projects you would like to find.
Keywords are a way for Nerds to ensure they’re showing up in any and every search that is relevant to their skillset. Many Nerds choose to describe their project history on their bio while listing their technology stack in the Keywords section.
For the Job Title section, we advise that you list your most recent title.
The Skills filter is an opportunity to show your specialized expertise. Nerds are allowed to choose up to 5 skills, so it’s important you choose the categories that best represent your background.
Your profile can be edited directly from the dashboard by clicking the pencil icon. You can also edit your profile by clicking your avatar and selecting profile. There you will also see the pencil icon that allows you to edit the necessary information. Don't forget to save your changes.
NerdHerders can view a Nerd’s profile in their search results. Your resume and certification links will not be shared until you have accepted a chat request.
Your resume is made available to NerdHerders only after you accept their chat request. Your resume is kept internally at NerdRabbit for your recruiter as we try to help you find work.
NerdHerders can choose to filter the way they search for Nerds on the platform. Be sure to create a complete and thorough profile to give you the best opportunity to connect with NerdHerders and find a great (h)opportunity!
